A Forest Primeval: The Second Edition of Ecological Rambles Now Available

July 11, 2011 by njflora

Dr. Heckscher has provided a wonderful short paper on the interesting forest we call Bear Swamp (click here for a pdf file of Ecological Rambles #2).  The Flora of New Jersey Project is pleased to provide the second edition in the running dialog with our resident ecologist on a topic that is dear to his heart.  Bear Swamp is a large, magnificent woodland is found NW of the village of Dividing Creek on the Cumberland County Bayshore.  It is one of New Jersey’s ecological treasures and Stevens provides a unique view from a vantage point of nearly 40 years of study.

Be sure to read this ramble from a person who has been there.  Be sure to share this article with your botanist and ecologist friends and colleagues.
