Order:  Polypodiales    Family: Lygodiaceae   Synonomy: Gisopteris palmatum Bernhardi Lower Taxa:  None Habit:  Fern, perennial, vine-like fronds with sterile paired sterile pinna low on rachis and fertile pinna (when present) at tips of fronds, creeping rootstock Habitat:  Wet, acid swales, stream floodplains.  Requires constant moisture, high light levels and intensely acid soil in order to thrive.
