The Kew Herbarium, the Royal Botanical Gardens’ scientific center, is offering the Kew International Diploma Course in Herbarium Techniques in New York August 2012. This two-week session would be held in the Brooklyn Botanical Garden and taught by instructors from Kew and include a session on SPECIFY database, taught by Dr. Andrew Bentley. The course will also include a session on permitting and CITES, taught by the US Fish and Wildlife Service. The course is for applicants currently working within recognized herbarium and those studying systematics.
