Kew Herbarium Techniques Course Offered

The Kew Herbarium, the Royal Botanical Gardens’ scientific center, is offering the Kew International Diploma Course in Herbarium Techniques in New York August 2012.  This two-week session would be held in the Brooklyn Botanical Garden and taught by instructors from Kew and include a session on SPECIFY database, taught by Dr.  Andrew Bentley.  The course will also include a session on permitting and CITES, taught by the US Fish and Wildlife Service.  The course is for applicants currently working within recognized herbarium and those studying systematics.  The space is limited so those with the skills and enthusiasm should access the course web site @ http://www.bbg.org/visit/event/herbarium_techniques/
