Calling All Botanists! Dr. Struwe needs Plant Materials for Fall Botany Course

August 31, 2011 by njflora

Dr. Lena Struwe, Associate Professor at the Rutgers University Dept. of Ecology, Evolution and Natural Resources, is teaching a botany class this fall that needs plant specimens for teaching aids.  Dr. Struwe would love to have lycopods and horse tail and any other interesting plant specimens for this fall’s class.  The specimens need to be whole, not pressed.  Air dried or pickled in ethanol would be acceptable.  Other odd plant fruits, bark, etc that is not usually found on herbarium sheets would also be neat to have for the class.

If you have the time and access to plants needed for the class contact Dr. Struwe directly at struwe@aesop.Rutgers.edu or 732-932-9711 ext. 235 to arrange the shipping and current speimen needs.
